Best Gingerbread Cookie Baking Gifts Under $20

Our family gingerbread cookie baking evolves every year.  Scanning Amazon this year several baking tools excited me!  A raised cookie rack would certainly clear more counter space, what amazing colors could I create with new food coloring set, and be sure to check out the piping bottles for storing royal icing.  Pin this for later, maybe even Valentine’s Day.  Let me know your favorite Gingerbread Cookie Baking Tools!

Stackable Wire Cookie Rack

Clear your counter of all the clutter with this amazing fold down cookie rack.  Stack all your gingerbread house pieces on the rack as you assemble the house.  Place newly decorated cookies on the rack to dry.

Parchment Paper

Most grocery stores carry this item but not at this volume.  Cut out your cookies on the parchment paper to save breaking them during transfer to the cookie sheet.  Parchment keeps these dark cookies from baking too quickly and burning before you know it.

Wilton Color Right Performance Color -with black!!!

My son’s camo toy hauler gingerbread.

My family loves crazy colors in their gingerbread cookie baking. My boys love the dark camo colors to match army style trucks.  This brilliant kit comes with all the colors you need to mix and match to make traditional gingerbread cookie colors plus all the army/battle/shark colors you need for raising boys up in gingerbread cookie baking.  See our Vintage Camper Gingerbreads in this post!  We even made an airstream!

Candy Eyeballs

Sometimes, like for ninjabreads (gingerbreads in the shape of ninjas), eyeballs make all the difference!  Plus a single-eyed gingerbread boy tickles everyone at the decorating table.  Come on, Candy Eyeballs are just funny!

Black Icing

Making black icing is tricky.  Sometimes I just surrender and buy it already made instead of dealing with the purply-blue-black gloopy mess I create with food coloring.  This tube complete with sparkles comes with a decorator style tip.   Black sparkly Santa boots or reindeer hooves- how cool is that!

Supreme Baking Molasses

Molasses is expensive.  I use a lot. Molasses also keeps better than honey.  Buying it in bulk makes sense except the grocery store does not sell bulk.  Amazon to the rescue!

Grandma’s Molasses

This my basic go-to molasses.  My family does not like the more bitter blackstrap molasses.  Again buying in bulk is a huge saving.  For more savings check out the 5 Tricks For Perfect Gingerbread Cookies.

Mccormack Baking Spice Set

Super fun!  Depending on what style of gingerbread I am making is how I choose the spices I use.  For the Best Gingerbread Recipe for Eating check out this post.  For my non-edible gingerbread, I spice it up less.

Made for your Edible lights, Christmas Decorations

Gingerbread cookie baking requires time.  Time I don’t have. Sometimes I cheat with pre-made decorations.  Plus my skill level lacks the detail these perfect little ornaments and lights display.  Want to get to decorating right way try these Easy Kid Friendly Gingerbread Houses

Gingerbread Boy and Girl Cutters metal 3 sizes

Gingerbread cookie baking tip #1- Use only metal cookie cutters.  Anything less than metal cookie cutters sets you up for failure.  Unless you are lucky enough to have cookie molds handed down from Grandma’s kitchen.  Then, by all means, use those, you lucky gingerbread baker.

Gingerbread House Cutter set and piping bag

We always cut our gingerbread house out with a knife but this set intrigues me.  If you wish to make multiple identical houses to decorate

Boxer Dog Cookie Cutter

Every gingerbread house needs a dog.  In our family, we need a boxer.  Meet him at the @thejoyousboxer on Instagram.  Find your special dog shaped cookie cutter.

Piping Bottles

I am so ordering these for next year.  My boys struggle to handle a piping bag opting for knives and paint brushes.  Piping bottles keep the royal icing from drying out too quickly.   To help you choose your frosting tools and type of frosting to decorate see the post 3 Best Frostings for Gingerbread Cookies.

Piping Bags

Create the beautifully detailed designs you see on Pinterest with piping bag or bottles.  A must-have tool for Royal Icing decorating.  See 3 Best Frostings for Gingerbread Cookies for recipes.

Icing Decorating Tips 42 in a Handy Case!

Wow!  The equivalent of a multi-piece socket set your husband might keep in the garage. No decoration style will escape you with this kit.

Cookie flooding Decorator Kit

Based on wet on wet Royal Icing, this decorating technic produces the multi-colored smoothly iced cookie look.  Examples of Cookie Flooding

Meringue Powder

Traditionally mixed up with egg whites Royal Icing posses issues for many.  Substituting meringue powder in your Royal Icing eliminates the food poising possibility.

Rolling Pin & Non-Stick Matt

Gingerbread cookies require a rolling pin.  As gingerbread warms it becomes sticky.  The non-stick matt extends your dough handling time.  The spatula is such a bonus!

Kitchen Aid Mixer

Definitely under $20 a year if you keep it for 10 years!!

Depending on which gingerbread cookie baking recipe you use, you may or may not need a mixer.  For icing, a mixer keeps you from giving up! At 17 years old my personal kitchen aid mixer paid for itself ten years ago.

Gingerbread Cookie Baking Time Made Easy

Gingerbread cookie baking for us means family time.  Fun is the key to building gingerbread.  If you are traveling or overwhelmed by the season. Buy a kit!  Here are a few we enjoyed on our last holiday travels.
